Alongside our ongoing research initiatives, we are proud to celebrate the academic progression of three of our dedicated team members at the University of Tartu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Jaak P\u00e4rtel<\/strong>&nbsp;will continue his journey in our Master\u2019s programme, delving deeper into the fascinating world of&nbsp;<em>crohm fungi diversity<\/em>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<em>community ecology<\/em>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Roland Lehemets<\/strong>&nbsp;is advancing to PhD studies, where he will explore the alignment between&nbsp;<em>community dynamics<\/em>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<em>ecosystem processes<\/em>&nbsp;through the lens of&nbsp;<em>microbial niche characteristics<\/em>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sirle<\/strong>\u00a0is also embarking on PhD studies, focusing on the\u00a0<em>biodiversity drivers<\/em>\u00a0of\u00a0<em>soil microarthropods<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 a critical area for understanding soil ecosystem health.<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>We are incredibly proud of their achievements and excited to see how their research will contribute to advancing soil ecological science!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To start the new academic year with enthusiasm, our team members participated in the \u00d6komess on September 11<sup>th<\/sup>, where they showcased the exciting research topics of the Soil Ecology working group. Visitors had the chance to explore the world of ecoacoustics, discover the fascinating life hidden in soil through a microscope, and learn how our field practices are conducted.
